This will depend upon a few circumstances. If you are required to apply
for a Zoning and/or Building Permits each office will need at least one set of
plans. If you are going to use a deck contractor they will need a set of
prints. If you are borrowing money to build your outdoor project many
lending institutions ask for a set of prints to establish the value of the
improvement. Some communities have a subdivision review board which may
want to retain a set. Fortunately because we include a thorough material
list in each deck construction package your supplier will not need a set of
plans.
Because you save money on 3-set or 6-set packages, you should consider
ordering all the sets at one time.
Use the checklist below to estimate the total number of plans you'll need.
Owner
Contractor or Subcontractor
Lender or Mortgage Source
Zoning Department
Building Department (sometimes requires 2 sets)
Subdivision Committee

No, Decks USA deck plans are not stamped by an Architect
or Engineered simply because we're not registered in all 50 states. Our
deck plans meet or exceed all national building codes and requirements,
including BOCA. Local municipalities can make a code stricter but not
lessen it. Therefore, although most communities don't require deck plans
to be stamped by an Architect or Engineer, it is a good idea to check with your
local Building Department for their specific requirements.
Nationally recognized for years as the leader in
Deck Plans and deck construction, in many cases, local Building Departments and
Municipalities have adopted many of our construction techniques. Strengthening
their existing requirements, using our building standards as the basis for their
deck construction guidelines and practices. Most Building Departments are
familiar with Decks USA deck plans, incorporating our unsurpassed construction
standards and working 3-D prints.
